LINE chatbot for Malaysian businesses

The Jawabkan assistant on your LINE Official Account, answering from your own price list in Bahasa Malaysia, English and Mandarin. When a customer needs a person, you reply in the same LINE chat. No extra monthly fee.

Who it is for

LINE is not Malaysia's everyday messaging app. About 1 in 12 Malaysian internet users has an account (8.6% in MCMC's Internet Users Survey 2022). It matters when your customers come from where LINE is used widely: visitors, students and residents from Japan, Taiwan and Thailand, and the businesses that serve them. If that is not your customer base, WhatsApp, your website and Telegram will reach far more people.

Can a Malaysian business use a LINE Official Account?

Yes. LINE's own help centre says an unverified account can be used by anyone, whether an individual or a company. Verification, the account badge, is only offered in Japan, Taiwan and Thailand, so a Malaysian business runs an unverified account. Chatting with customers and the Messaging API both work on it.

How it works

1. You create a LINE Official Account for your business, on LINE's own site.

2. You switch on the Messaging API. In LINE Official Account Manager, under Settings → Messaging API. LINE then creates a channel for your account in the LINE Developers console, with a channel ID and a channel secret. Paste those two into your private setup page after you subscribe: we check them with LINE, store them encrypted, connect your account, and LINE's own webhook test confirms the connection works.

3. You set five switches. In Official Account Manager → Settings → Response settings: Chat on, Webhook on, Greeting message off, Auto-response off, Response hours off. Chat on is what lets you reply in person; the other three stop LINE's own automatic messages talking over the assistant.

4. You tell us about your business and approve the facts. Your price list, opening hours, services and the questions customers ask you every day, on the same setup page. You check exactly what the assistant will say before it answers anyone. If you already use Jawabkan on another channel, this is already done.

When it cannot answer, LINE is different

On LINE you can reply yourself, in the same conversation. When the assistant needs a person, it tells the customer someone from your business will reply in this chat. It does not ask for their phone number. You get an email with the conversation, open Official Account Manager → Chats on your phone or computer, and carry on.

The assistant cannot see your replies in Official Account Manager, so it keeps answering the questions it can. Repeated questions it cannot answer from the same customer do not send you a fresh alert each time.

If a customer sends a photo, voice message or file, the assistant tells them someone will look and reply in the chat, and emails you. Stickers are left alone.

What it costs

Nothing extra from us. LINE is included in every Jawabkan plan: Starter at RM199 a month for 1,000 conversations, or Growth at RM399 for 2,500, shared with your other channels.

On LINE's side, replies to a customer's message are free; LINE counts only "push" messages against your account's plan. The assistant answers with replies, and sends a push message only when a reply can no longer be delivered, such as after an unusually slow answer.

Your customers' privacy

The assistant sees what LINE gives any Official Account's webhook: an anonymous ID for the customer and what they write. It does not receive their name or phone number.

Conversation records are kept for 12 months and then deleted automatically, and you can ask for yours as a CSV file at any time. You are the data controller for your own customers and Jawabkan processes their messages on your instructions. LINE, operated by LY Corporation, carries the messages under its own terms.

Frequently asked

What is a LINE chatbot?

An automatic assistant on your LINE Official Account that answers customers' messages. Jawabkan's answers come from your own price list and FAQs, which you give us and approve on your setup page, so it answers like your business rather than like a search engine.

Can a business in Malaysia use a LINE Official Account?

Yes. Anyone can use an unverified account, individual or company; verification is only offered in Japan, Taiwan and Thailand. Chat and the Messaging API both work on an unverified account.

Can I reply to customers myself?

Yes, in LINE Official Account Manager → Chats, in the same conversation. When the assistant needs you, it tells the customer a person will reply there and emails you the conversation.

Does LINE charge for the assistant's messages?

Replies are free on LINE's side. Only push messages count against your LINE plan, and the assistant sends one only when a reply can no longer be delivered.

Does it cost extra if I already use Jawabkan?

No. Conversations on LINE, WhatsApp, Telegram and your website come out of the same monthly allowance: 1,000 on Starter and 2,500 on Growth.

Will it answer in LINE groups?

No. It answers one-to-one chats with your account only.

Can I try it before paying?

Yes. The self-test on this site runs the same assistant: paste your own price list and business details and ask it up to ten questions yourself. No call, no booking and no payment details.
